A Western Rite Canonical Orthodox Parish In Edmonton
As an Orthodox priest who originally comes from the Western tradition, I have over the years felt for those who wholeheartedly are searching for a deepened understanding of their faith, only to leave saddened by the foreignness of the liturgical ritual of the Eastern Rite Orthodox Church. I am not alone in this experience. One of my long time parishioners came from the Anglican tradition over two decades ago and has repeatedly invited like minded Anglicans to come and join him. Time and time again they have told him that the Byzantine ritual was just too foreign. In the Western rite - both are bridged: the fullness of the Orthodox faith lived out in the ancient liturgical tradition of the West.
As a former Roman Catholic, I feel for those who are currently troubled. Many Catholics have and continue to struggle with the liturgical reforms that come out of Vatican II. The recent scandals in many parts of the world are a cause of much sadness. Should you be looking for a community that lives the Apostolic faith, feel free to join us.
Whether you are an Anglican, Roman Catholic, Evangelical Christian, Presbyterian, Methodist, United, or Lutheran or not currently a Christian, feel free to come experience the worship of your ancestors.
'Come and See'.
God bless.
